2 de oct. de 2013 · An entry in the positively niche sub-genre of moth vampire films this did indeed feature a giant man-sized moth that drank human blood. A period piece, set somewhere in the 19th century by the looks of it, Peter Cushing plays Detective Inspector Quennell, who comes calling on Dr Carl Mallinger, played by Robert Flemyng, when one of the Doctor’s students is murdered.
In "The Blood Beast Terror" Cushing outshines Flemying and the result is a one-sided show. Cushing almost reminds me of "Columbo" in this film - the viewer senses that Quennell knows all along that the professor is the real culprit and he is just gathering enough evidence to bag his man.
22 de nov. de 2022 · Directed without much flair by Vernon Sewell, The Blood Beast doesn't rank with the best of British horror films and it periodically drags but it does feature some nice scenery, a memorable killer moth monster (the highlight of the film in a lot of ways) and some interesting set pieces.

29 de dic. de 2022 · For a film that’s not particularly memorable – at least not memorable for the “right” reasons – The Blood Beast Terror/Vampire Beast Craves Blood deserves credit since it enjoyed a long theatrical run 1968-1973.
