Ted Arison (Hebrew: תד אריסון; 24 February 1924 – 1 October 1999) was an Israeli businessman who co-founded Norwegian Cruise Lines in 1966 with Knut Kloster and soon left to form Carnival Cruise Lines in 1972.
Ted Arison’s long-term vision, amplified by his managerial skill, formed the foundation for his massive-scale success and for growing Carnival Cruise into an empire – the world’s leading cruise company.

Ted Arison (1924–1999), Israeli businessman, was born as Theodore Arison in Tel Aviv in 1924, in Mandatory Palestine. He served in the Israel Defense Forces and participated in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. After his army service he moved to the United States and became a business man.

The late Ted Arison, together with his daughter Shari Arison, established The Ted Arison Family Foundation in Miami in 1981, expressing the philanthropic viewpoint of a personal inner moral edict that a person must give back to society and the community in which they live – “Where you live and thrive, you must give back.”.
