The Technion – Israel Institute of Technology was founded in 1912 in Haifa and is the oldest university in Israel and the Middle East. The university, where classes started in the winter of 1924/25, offers degrees in science and engineering, and related fields such as architecture, medicine, industrial management and education.

Technion – Israel Institute of Technology is Israel’s first university, founded in 1912, 36 years before Israel’s Declaration of Independence. The Technion is credited with conceiving, founding and shaping the high-tech nation of the modern State of Israel.
Technion’s mission is founded on three core principles: Knowledge, Research, and Progress. Knowledge: Both the creation and teaching of knowledge is to be shared indiscriminately. Research: Research in science and technology will be met with support, guidance, and intention of excellence.
Technion graduates, researchers, professors, and students have played pivotal roles in the enrichment of knowledge and the human condition on both local and global scales, accounting for more than 50% of the startup founders in Israel’s wildly successful high-tech sector and at least 50% of the nation’s engineers.
