Beginning in 1984, Rice collaborated on four albums by Béla Fleck – Double Time (1984), Drive (1988), Tales from the Acoustic Planet (1995), and The Bluegrass Sessions: Tales from the Acoustic Planet, Vol. 2 (1999). He joined David Grisman and Jerry Garcia in 1993 to record The Pizza Tapes.
The Bluegrass Sessions: Tales from the Acoustic Planet, Vol.2 is an album by Béla Fleck. Going back to his bluegrass roots, Fleck put together a band of all-stars of the genre: Sam Bush , Jerry Douglas , Stuart Duncan , Tony Rice , Mark Schatz , Vassar Clements , John Hartford and others.

29 de dic. de 2020 · We did another record of my music, The Bluegrass Sessions: Tales From the Acoustic Planet, Vol. 2, in 1999. That was essentially the same band, but Earl Scruggs, Vassar Clements and John Hartford joined us. By then, Tony had started having issues with his hands.
