Susanne Abbuehl (born July 30, 1970) is a Swiss/Dutch jazz singer and composer. Abbuehl heard jazz and classical music at an early age, because her parents were music fans and often took her to attend concerts. As a child she received lessons in harpsichord, playing baroque music.
Swiss/Dutch singer, composer and educator Susanne Abbuehl was born in Bern, Switzerland, on July 30, 1970. Drawn to music and language early on, composing songs and writing words in her own language, she started studying the harpsichord as a child.

Head of School of Music, Jazz. European Musician of the Year 2017 by the French Académie du Jazz, winning the Grand Prix du Disque in the jazz category by the French Académie Charles Cros in the same year, Susanne Abbuehl was also one of the recipients of the Swiss Music Prize by Switzerland’s Federal Office of Culture in 2016.

Abbuehl also studied North Indian classical vocal music in Amsterdam and Mumbai. All her recordings for ECM have received wide critical acclaim internationally. Her debut, April , won an Edison Award (Dutch Grammy) in 2002.
