Stevie Ray Vaughan wurde als zweiter Sohn von Martha und Jimmie Lee Vaughan in Dallas, Texas geboren und begann 1963 unter dem Einfluss seines älteren Bruders Jimmie wie dieser ebenfalls Gitarre zu spielen.
