Steven Bernstein (born October 8, 1961) is an American trumpeter, slide trumpeter, arranger/composer and bandleader based in New York City. He is best known for his work in The Lounge Lizards, Sex Mob, Spanish Fly and the Millennial Territory Orchestra.
Bernstein has shot nearly 50 films. More recently Bernstein has become known as a screenwriter. He has had 11 major commissions in the last 6 years, including "Last Call" (Dominion) about the last days of Dylan Thomas, which Bernstein went on to direct.
'Tinctures in Time' is the first original music Steven Bernstein has ever written for the Millennial Territory Orchestra, which prior to this recording had exclusively been a vehicle for his arrangements of other people's songs, from Count Basie to Prince.
