The Stella Adler Studio of Acting (formerly Stella Adler Conservatory) is a prestigious acting school that was founded by actress and teacher Stella Adler. The Stella Adler Studio of Acting has two locations: its original New York City conservatory, founded in 1949, and the Art of Acting Studio in Los Angeles.
The Stella Adler Studio of Acting is renowned for its responsible actor training. In all programs – from the full-time professional conservatory to seasonal workshops – students are provided a level of instruction that is unparalleled in the nation.
Since its founding in 1949, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting has trained thousands of actors, many of whom have gone on to important theater and film careers. Its roots, however, go back even farther, to Jacob P. Adler, one of the great actors of the American Yiddish Theatre, and also include Harold Clurman, Stella’s.
The full-time conservatory programs are the heart and soul of the Stella Adler Studio, the culmination of Stella’s vision for complete acting training. Since 1949, the Professional Conservatory has trained some of America’s most important actors and is considered one of the best in the nation.
