13 de abr. de 2010 · I have all of the Cheap Trick albums. This one ranks in the middle. Standing on the edge, Tonight it's you, Wild wild Women, and How about You are all excellent songs. The rest are just okay. However, very few rock groups can keep putting out new music for this many years and excel at it. If you like Cheap Trick, you will enjoy this album too.

The rest are just okay. However, very few rock groups can keep putting out new music for this many years and excel at it. If you like Cheap Trick, you will enjoy this album too.

28 de dic. de 2006 · In the mid 80’s, Cheap Trick had fallen quite a bit in terms of not only their popularity with fans but with the critics as well. ‘Standing on the Edge’ which came out in the summer of 1985 put them back on the charts in the form of a hit single, “Tonight It’s You”, which was enormously hooky and was accompanied by a well received video as well.
Maybe it's not fair to say that Cheap Trick was chasing trends with Standing on the Edge. Back in the late '70s, they were one of the trend makers, which is part of the reason this feels and sounds so off. Most of these songs are just okay and the mid-'80s influences of what recordings sounded like at the time really date this album.
