At this point Tilton left the band: he was replaced shortly after by Stan Batcow, who came in on bass with Robb moving to guitar. The band then signed to In Tape , the label run by Marc Riley and released their Songs Of Love And Fury, their breakthrough album in the US.
A collection of recordings by Stan Batcow (of Howl in the Typewriter) which have the common link of featuring various guest collaborators (and, unfortunately, substandard recording quality). The varied inputs and influences make this a plethora of differing songs and includes the first suite of recordings by Barbara Dwyer, a recording collaboration who were to resurface on PUMF 91.

Taking the punk ethos of 'do-it-yourself' to a new level, Stan Batcow created Pumf Records in 1984. It was formed as A-void, a band Stan played in at the time, prepared to release their first album after gaining exposure in Blackpool.
