One of the few boarding schools in the UK to be lucky enough to be part of a vibrant university city, the school makes the most of its location – pupils have access to lectures from world-class academics and opportunities to explore the city’s colleges, museums and theatres.
We are one of few boarding schools in the UK that are set within a city, and Oxford is an ever-present influence on school life. St. Edward’s has strong links with Oxford University – one of the most academically rich universities in the world.
How to Apply. St Edward’s accepts approximately 150 pupils at 13+ into the Shell (Year 9); about 20 at 14+ into the Fourth Form (Year 10) to begin the two year IGCSE/GCSE and Pathways and Perspectives programme; and some 65 at 16+ into the Lower Sixth (Year 12) to begin the two year A Level or IB Diploma programme.
St Edward’s believes in educating its pupils in an internationally conscientious environment, where an understanding and celebration of different cultures is the norm. We therefore welcome applications from international pupils at Years 9, 10 and 12.
St Edward’s offers a great co-educational boarding school experience for bright and outgoing boys and girls. The Oxford location is a big plus for students who want to have a bustling university city on the doorstep. The school is traditional without being stuffy.
