Sounds of the Satellites is the second studio album by British band Laika. It was released through Too Pure in 1997.
Track 12 "Dirty Feet + Giggles" (21:47) contains first the track (length 3:33), then almost 15 minutes of silence and then a hidden track (length 3:24): an English (radio?) transmission about the Russian "astro"-dog Laika, the first living being in space (Sputnik 2, 1957), vinyl locked groove sound.
Laika blends together bits of shoegaze, blues, jazz, dub, and indie rock and drizzles them over rhythms with loungey swagger and odd time signatures. Despite the diversity of influences, nothing on this disc feels out of place, though.
