Smokin' Joe Kubek (November 30, 1956 – October 11, 2015) was an American Texas blues electric guitarist, songwriter and performer. Biography. Born in Grove City, Pennsylvania, Kubek grew up in the Dallas, Texas area.
Smokin' Joe Kubek was an American electric blues guitarist and songwriter, born November 30, 1956 in Grove City, Pennsylvania, USA, although he grew up near Dallas. As a teenager, he played for a short while with Freddie King, and from the 80s, he played, toured and recorded with Bnois King until his death.

Smokin' Joe Kubek and Bnois King, one of the most talented guitar tandems in any genre, have signed a recording agreement with Blind Pig Records.The pact marks a reunion between the veteran music duo and the label, which issued the group's CD entitled Roadhouse Research in 2003 and released Show Me The Money the following year.

Blues guitarist Smokin’ Joe Kubek has died of a heart attack shortly before he was due to take the stage at a festival in North Carolina. The Texas musician, who was 58, was set to appear at Pleasure Island Seafood & Blues Festival on Sunday when he took ill.
