It was written while Paul Simon was in England. Its lyrics use the changing nature of the seasons as a metaphor for a girl’s changing moods.

Paul Simon. Paul Frederic Simon (born October 13, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter known both for his solo work and his collaboration with Art Garfunkel. He and his school friend Garfunkel, whom he met in 1953, came to prominence in the 1960s as Simon & Garfunkel.
