Pretty Things' follow-up Savage Eye is not quite as good, but Cross Talk, which they recorded in 1980, showed they could fully absorb the lessons of punk and dish it out in the meanest slice of rock and roll ever cut on vinyl. But for glorious technicolour rock before giganticism ruined the genre, this is as good as it gets.
