Signals is the ninth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released on September 9, 1982 by Anthem Records. After the release of their previous album, Moving Pictures, the band started to prepare material for a follow-up during soundchecks on their 1981 concert tour and during the mixing of their subsequent live album Exit...Stage Left.
Signals was also the last album to be produced by Terry Brown, which is quite sad, especially how it ended - but he presided over all of the essential Rush period. The album also completely paved the way for the direction that Rush were to maintain throughout virtually the rest of their career, and to my mind, Signals is the last of the "vital" Rush albums - I lost interest in them after this ...
