After the colossal failure of 1972's _The Willie Way_ (which I haven't actually heard - but _Jesus Christ_), Willie rebounded with his _dirtiest_ (and therefore best) album, _Shotgun Willie_. Critics praise Willie's later, artier works like _Phases and Changes_ and _Red Headed Stranger_.
