John Anthony Helliwell (born 15 February 1945) is an English musician, best known as the saxophonist, secondary keyboardist, and backing vocalist for the rock band Supertramp. He also served as an MC during the band's concerts, talking and making jokes to the audience between songs.

(Image credit: UMC) The last time Prog saw John Anthony Helliwell, back in 2010, he was on stage at the O2 Arena, leading the current version of Supertramp through a show packed full of the group’s many, many hits.
We made the album Crime of the Century and began the long climb to international success, moving to California in the process. Berlin 1977. Breakfast in America was the biggest seller in the world in 1979! 1983. 1986. During a Supertramp hiatus in the nineties, I moved back to England to study at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester .
