i am also reading ship of magic rn, and i am about 220 pages in, and yes its a VERY slow start. id say robin hobb is known for having slow-paced books, and this book is no exception. it does pick up and i definitely suggest pushing through, because it absolutely is worth that push! i put it on hold so many times because the slowness is intimidating.
