Sheldon Leonard Berman (February 3, 1925 – September 1, 2017) was an American comedian, actor, writer, teacher, and lecturer. [1] He was awarded three gold records for his comedy albums and he won the first Grammy Award for a spoken comedy recording in 1959. [2]

Shelley Berman. Actor: You Don't Mess with the Zohan. Shelley Berman began studying acting shortly after he was honorably discharged from the US navy. He enrolled as a drama student at Chicago's Goodman Theater, where he met Sarah Herman, another aspiring thespian. They fell in love and were married in 1947.
