Downliners Sect are an English R&B and blues-based rock band, formed in the 1960s beat boom era. Stylistically, they were similar to blues-based bands such as The Yardbirds, The Pretty Things and the Rolling Stones, playing basic R&B on their first album The Sect.

After having split in 1968, cult R&B favourites The Downliners Sect reformed in 1976 on the back of the Punk explosion. and immediately re-established their credentials as a valid. powerful Live force. This 2-CD set reissues their superb 1979 'comeback' album Showbiz, their excellent Live In The 80 s set. and a half-dozen bonus tracks.
