14 de oct. de 2015 · In 1984, he penned a more “melodic” version of the last cycle – The Second Dream of the High Tension Line Stepdown Transformer for instruments that can be tuned according to multiples of four. “Melodic version” must be understood here as meaning a slight tightening of the rules governing the improvisation.
In 1962, based on his dream chord, Young wrote The Second Dream of the High-Tension Line Stepdown Transformer. One of The Four Dreams of China, the piece is based on four pitches, which he later gave as the frequency ratios: 36-35-32-24 (G, C, +C#, D), and limits as to which may be combined with any other.
