Sarah Lawrence offers courses in French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish language and literature, and Ancient Latin and Greek; a variety of courses in art history, film history, and music history; literature courses in everything from ancient Greek theatre to the grammar of narrative; and courses in philosophy and religion.

  6. Tuition & Costs. The fees for tuition and room include expenses connected with the education and residence of the student. The cost of books and supplies needed for course work is not included. Students usually budget an additional $900-$1,200 for books, supplies, recreation, and personal items. Several meal plans are available at additional cost.

Inspired by their own experience at Sarah Lawrence, a large number of graduates are drawn to scholarship and teaching at all levels, from early childhood to college. Nearly 70 percent of alumnae/i earn master’s degrees, and some 25 percent receive doctorates.
