4 de dic. de 2020 · Before coming to Purdue, Professor Wagstaff taught at the Universities of Rochester, Illinois, and Georgia. He spent a year at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. His research interests are in the areas of cryptography, parallel computation, and analysis of algorithms, especially number theoretic algorithms.

Samuel Jones Wagstaff Jr. was an American art curator, collector, and the artistic mentor and benefactor of photographer Robert Mapplethorpe and poet-punk rocker Patti Smith. Wagstaff is known in part for his support of minimalism, pop art, conceptual art and earthworks, but his aesthetic acceptance and support of photography presaged the acceptance of the medium as a fine art.
Samuel Standfield Wagstaff junior (* 21.Februar 1945 in New Bedford, Massachusetts) ist ein US-amerikanischer Mathematiker, der sich mit algorithmischer Zahlentheorie und Kryptographie beschäftigt.. Wagstaff studierte am Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Bachelor 1966) und promovierte 1970 an der Cornell University bei Oscar S. Rothaus (On infinite Matroids).
