Samuel Gabriel Costa (17 June 1910 – 23 September 1981) was an English singer, entertainer and broadcaster. Initially a popular singer in the dance band era and a comic actor on the show Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh , he was later a disc jockey for Radio Luxembourg and the BBC .
Sam Costa was a versatile performer who appeared in less than a dozen films and TV shows in the 1950s and 1960s, such as The Pickwick Papers, Penny and the Pownall Case and Trouble in the Air. He also had a long career as a radio comedian and a musical performer, known for his roles in Hancock's Half Hour, Thank Your Lucky Stars and Penny and the Pownall Case.

He followed his first series, It's That Man Again, with another called Much Binding In The Marsh, where listeners would hear him repeatedly ask, "Was there something?"

29 de mar. de 2022 · Sam Costa, a 24-year-old from Buford, Ga., ran his first half marathon ever and won the Sam Costa Half Marathon in Carmel on March 26, 2022, in 1:13.09 seconds. The race was named for the late Sam Costa, a Chicago police detective and runner who died in 1972. The race was held in cold and snowy conditions, with Carmel resident Holly Read, 36, the first place female finisher in 1:20.55.
