He was a gifted midfielder known for his dribbling skills and technical ability, and is strongly reputed to have been one of the finest European players of his generation.

Il est naturalisé français en 1987 [1]. Milieu offensif, il mène sa carrière de footballeur jusqu'en 1992, essentiellement au FK Sarajevo et au Paris Saint-Germain.
