Rubber Soul es el sexto álbum de estudio de la banda británica de rock The Beatles, lanzado el 3 de diciembre de 1965. Producido por George Martin , fue grabado en solo cuatro semanas para así poder aprovechar el mercado navideño .

The album consisted of eleven songs by John and Paul, two by George and another with the unique writing credit of Lennon-McCartney-Starkey. The inclusion of a sitar on the song Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) also illustrated George's growing interest in Indian music and culture.

According to Barry Miles, a leading figure in the UK underground whom Lennon and McCartney befriended at this time, Rubber Soul and its 1966 follow-up, Revolver, were "when [the Beatles] got away from George Martin, and became a creative entity unto themselves".
