The original drummer Ross A. Sinclair (born 1966, Bearsden, Glasgow) left the group after the first album This Is Our Art to pursue a career in art, and he was replaced by Paul Quinn (born 9 August 1963). Most of their songs were written by Sean Dickson.
James Sinclair Ross, CM (January 22, 1908 – February 29, 1996) was a Canadian banker and author, who wrote novels and short fiction about life on the Canadian Prairies. He is best known for his first novel, As For Me and My House.
As For Me and My House is a novel by Canadian author Sinclair Ross, first published in 1941 by the American company Reynal and Hitchcock, with little fanfare. Its 1957 Canadian re-issue, by McClelland & Stewart, as part of their New Canadian Library line, began its canonization, mostly in university classrooms.
Ross Sinclair (born 1966 in Glasgow) studied BA Environmental Art (1984–90) and MFA (1990–92) at The Glasgow School of Art, including an exchange to CalArts, Los Angeles (1992).

Ross Sinclair is an artist, writer and musician who is Professor of Contemporary Art Practice within the School of Fine Art. He is best known for his ‘Real Life’ research project initiated when he had the words REAL LIFE tattooed in black ink across his back, at Terry’s Tattoo parlour in Glasgow, 1994.
