Ronald Cornett Hawkins OC [1] (January 10, 1935 – May 29, 2022) was an American rock and roll singer, long based in Canada, whose career spanned more than half a century. His career began in Arkansas, United States, where he was born and raised. He found success in Ontario, Canada, and lived there for most of his life.

He was known for his raucous shows, his humorous patter and his mentorship of the Band members. He received an honorary Order of Canada appointment in 2014.
