The song was featured in the film adaptation of Pink Floyd’s album The Wall, which came out in 1982. The lyrics of the song are a tribute to Waters’ father, who died while fighting in World War II.

Waters was one of the founding members of Pink Floyd and set the conceptual direction for the band from 1968 to 1985, when he departed to embark on a solo career.
Hace 1 día · Anyhow, the lyrics are obscure and esoteric. It is obviously not as heavy-handed as “The Wall” or “The Final Cut”, but it also may not be as effective. The music and production are the stand outs and the songs and lyrics do seem to congeal into a feverish fantasia. The other solo album of Roger Waters from the 1980s, is “Radio KAOS”.
