Roger Ball (born 4 June 1944, Broughty Ferry, Scotland) is a Scottish saxophonist, keyboardist, songwriter and arranger. He is a former original member of the Average White Band (AWB).
Roger Ball is a professor in the School of Industrial Design at Georgia Tech. Ball and his team in the Body Scan Lab develop design tools for fitting the human body using the latest technologies. His award-winning 3D anthropometric study, SizeChina, created the first digital database of Chinese head and face shapes.
AWB reforms with original members Gorrie, McIntyre and Ball, and are joined by multi-instrumentalist Eliot Lewis to record Aftershock , a new studio album with guest appearances by Chaka Kahn, Ronnie Laws and Alex Ligertwood.
The Average White Band (also known as AWB) are a Scottish funk and R&B band that had a series of soul and disco hits between 1974 and 1980.
