The dual guitar is on display here…one playing lead and the other playing the same lead an octave higher. Other bands had two and sometimes three guitarists but they usually didn’t play in unison like Thin Lizzy. It made for a different sound.

Hace 4 días · In a 2022 interview with Ryan Roxie, Damon said he met Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy in 2006. Later, Johnson invited Gorham to a Cooper show, and later, Johnson learned that Thin Lizzy needed a guitarist. Gorham recommended Johnson, and Johnson met with the Lizzy guys. They saw Cooper’s show together and then Lizzy played with Cooper the next week.

Hace 3 días · The Renegade album was Darren’s second album with Thin Lizzy, and the world tour that followed was hugely successful. The album featured Darren’s first co-write with Phil, Angel Of Death, and the next album, Thunder & Lightning, also included the classic co-write, The Sun Goes Down.
