Robert Rodriguez is an American filmmaker, composer, and visual effects supervisor. He directed the 1992 action film El Mariachi, the 1996 neo-noir crime thriller From Dusk till Dawn, and the 2005 neo-noir crime thriller Sin City. He also co-directed the 2014 sequel, and created the Spy Kids franchise, among others. He is a close friend and frequent collaborator of Quentin Tarantino.
