Robert Rauschenberg. Robert Rauschenberg ( Port Arthur, Texas; 22 de octubre de 1925-Captiva Island, Condado de Lee (Florida); 12 de mayo de 2008) 1 fue un pintor y artista estadounidense, que alcanzó notoriedad en 1950 durante la transición del expresionismo abstracto al Pop-Art, del cual fue uno de los principales representantes en su país.
Robert Rauschenberg fue uno de los artistas que vivió esa tensa transición entre el expresionismo abstracto y el Pop-Art. El creador consideraba al expresionismo un movimiento un poco pedante, y además propio de hombres viejos, por lo que quiso volver a hacer un arte que retratara la realidad, aunque fuera de la monótona vida de los Estados Unidos en la época de Eisenhower.
