Not many people know about Robert P-Nut Johnson, but his presence as a background vocalist for Bootsy Collin’s Rubber Band and George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic is immensely felt across their discography.
Parliament was an American funk band formed in the late 1960s by George Clinton as a flagship act of his P-Funk collective. Evolving out of an earlier vocal group, Parliament became associated with a more commercial and less rock -oriented sound than its sister act Funkadelic.
15 de ene. de 2018 · March 12, 2017 – Robert “P-Nut” Johnson (Parliament Funkadelic) was born in Baltimore on October 16, 1947. Prior to joining Bootsy’s Rubber Band and P-Funk, P-Nut played with local bands in the Baltimore area. P-Nut started on the road with Bootsy’s Rubber Band and in the studio with P-Funk in 1976.
