Ritsuko Taneda (種子田 律子, Taneda Ritsuko) is a Japanese musician, best known as the bass guitarist and rhythm guitarist for the pop punk band Shonen Knife from 2006 to 2016. [1] [2] Before joining Shonen Knife, she was a guitarist and vocalist for the J-Pop groups Keihan Girl and Denki Candy.
Ritsuko Taneda: Biography. I am Japanese. I was born in Yokohama, and grew up there. In my high school days I belonged to the oil painting club. I enjoyed painting in oil. After high school my interests moved on to other things, and I didn't paint again for many years. But my taste for oil painting didn't disappear.
Atsuko was replaced by bassist Ritsuko Taneda, previously of the J-pop band Denki Candy. In the following years, Atsuko would occasionally play with the band during tours outside of Japan, at which time Taneda would switch to rhythm guitar; Atsuko did not play on the band's studio albums during this period.
