Rising Sons was a five-piece band of which Cooder & Mahal were prominent members from inception in '64 to disbanding in '66. The "Featuring" on this release is mainly due to their later success in their solo careers and their popularity in the early '90s, when this collection was released.
30 de nov. de 2020 · The Rising Sons were formed in Los Angeles in 1965 by 17-year-olds Ryland Cooder and Henry Saint Clair Fredericks, better known as Taj Mahal, along with guitarist Jesse Lee Kincaid, drummer Ed Cassidy and bassist Gary Marker. Cassidy left soon after (he went on to become a founding member of the band Spirit) and was replaced by Kevin Kelley.
