  7. Richard Mulcahy was an Irish politician, army general and leader of Fine Gael. He fought in the 1916 Easter Rising, served as Chief of Staff of the IRA during the War of Independence and the Civil War, and became commander of the pro-treaty forces. He was also Minister for Defence and Minister for Local Government and Public Health in the Free State government.
