Best known as the drummer for power-pop cult favorites Velvet Crush, Ric Menck also recorded an endless series of indie label singles under a variety of names including the Springfields and Choo Choo Train.
American drummer, record label owner and music writer. Originally from Chicago where he formed the groups The Springfields and Choo Choo Train with Paul Chastain in the mid-late 1980s. They then formed Velvet Crush and both moved to Providence, Rhode Island c1990.
En el año 1996 Ric publicó su disco en solitario “The Ballad Of Ric Menck” (1996), gratificante disco pop en donde recuperó canciones de su etapa con los Springfields. El álbum también contiene varias versiones, entre ellas una de los Hollies, el tema “Clown” aparecido en el disco “For Certain Because”, y otra de los Pastels, “Million Tears”.
