Kim Maiden Simmonds (5 December 1947 – 13 December 2022) was a Welsh musician. He was the founder, guitarist, primary songwriter and sole consistent member of the blues rock band Savoy Brown , which he formed in 1965.
3 de sept. de 2017 · Many consider that the recordings featuring Chris Youlden’s rich vocals and songwriting augmented by Kim Simmonds’s jazz-tinged, fluent blues guitar, were Savoy Brown’s finest work; this being especially so on such late-1960s cuts as “She’s Got a Ring in His Nose and a Ring on Her Hand” (a classy swing-blues) and the completely different and desolate groove of “Mr. Downchild.”
