Renée Simonsen is a Danish model, author and children's book writer. She was born in 1965 in Aarhus, Denmark and started her career as a top model in 1982. She won the Supermodel of the World contest in 1982 and represented Denmark at the contest. She also dated John Taylor of Duran Duran and wrote several children's books. She married the musician Thomas Helmig in 2000 and has four children.
