He mentioned barely remembering recording the albums he did then. It was also 1976 and Enoch Powell's immigration shtick had inflamed not only him, but David Bowie, who had his Thin White Duke phase. There was Siouxsie Sioux who was performing with a Nazi armband at times, and who was also encouraged to change a lyric in one of her songs that went "too many jews for my liking".
