Clyde Julian "Red" Foley (June 17, 1910 – September 19, 1968) was an American musician who made a major contribution to the growth of country music after World War II. For more than two decades, Foley was one of the biggest stars of the genre, selling more than 25 million records.

Blue Lick, Kentucky. Clyde Julian “Red” Foley contributed greatly to the rise of the country music industry following World War II. Emerging as a star in Chicago, he later played major roles in the expansion of Nashville and Springfield, Missouri as country music centers.
Mini Bio. Red Foley made his professional debut as a singer in Chicago. He was later discovered by a talent scout at Kentucky's Georgetown College. His mother and father operated a little store at the crossroads in Blue Lick, Kentucky.
