Cold Blood was formed in 1968 in the East Bay Area of California, by saxophonist Larry Field, keyboardist Raul Matute, and singers Lydia Pense and Skip Mesquite. In the years that followed, the band expanded and changed members, but it was their original style of blending soul, R&B, and rock influences that made them a standout.
