Looking back at the '80s for Cheap Trick, it was an extremely topsy-turvy decade – as they endured a key member's exit and eventual re-entry (bassist Tom Petersson), misses (1986's The Doctor peaked at a disappointing #115 on the Billboard 200), and hits (the #1 hit single, "The Flame").
Cheap Trick is an American rock band from Rockford, Illinois, formed in 1973 by guitarist Rick Nielsen, bassist Tom Petersson, lead vocalist Robin Zander and drummer Bun E. Carlos. The current lineup of the band consists of Zander, Nielsen and Petersson.
Thomas John Peterson (born May 9th, 1950), better known as Tom Petersson, is an American musician who is best known for being the bass guitar player for the rock band Cheap Trick. [1] Career. Before joining Cheap Trick, Petersson played in a number of bands, including the Bol Weevils, the Grim Reapers, Sick Man of Europe, and Fuse.
