PURLEY HIGH SCHOOL FOR BOYS 1914 - 1988. Mr. George Walker Winter was a pupil at Purley County School for Boys in the Godstone Road from 1920-1928. In 1932, after graduating from St. Catharine's, Cambridge with a second class BA, he went to Manchester University as an Assistant Lecturer from 1933-1937.
