Poseidon’s Wife and Children. Poseidon was the husband of Amphitrite, a Nereid, and their union produced four children including Triton, who was half-human, half-fish.. Amphitrite was known for her beauty and serene nature. She initially fled from Poseidon’s advances but was eventually brought back to him by a dolphin, symbolizing the god’s persuasive power over the sea and its creatures.

The school's name is a reference to the Greek god of the sea, Poseidon, who is also a character in the franchise. He is most commonly refferred to as King Neptune, which is his Roman name. It also references the ship SS Poseidon in the 1972 movie The Poseidon Adventure which is a movie about a ship that flips upside-down.
