Hace 4 días · Roebuck "Pops" Staples (December 28, 1914 – December 19, 2000) was an American gospel and R&B musician. A "pivotal figure in gospel in the 1960s and 1970s", he was an accomplished songwriter, guitarist and singer. He was the patriarch and member of singing group The Staple Singers, which included his son Pervis and daughters Mavis, Yvonne, and Cleotha.

Hace 2 días · Pops Staples conveys so much emotion in his voice without it being one of those super powerful booming voices, and pretty much all of these songs had either a solid groove to them, or a really powerful emotional feeling to them. .Overall, really big stuff from Pops. The title track was a great start, with some fantastic harmonies going on.
