Roger Charlery (22 February 1963 – 26 March 2019), known professionally as Ranking Roger, was an English musician. He was a vocalist in the 1980s ska band the Beat (known in North America as the English Beat) and later new wave band General Public .

Ranking Roger was a British musician and vocalist best known for his work with the ska band The Beat (known as The English Beat in North America) and later General Public. Born Roger Charlery on February 21, 1963, he became a prominent figure in the 2-tone ska movement, which blended traditional ska music with elements of punk rock and new wave.
Radioactive Records refused to release the next proposed BAD studio album, Entering a New Ride. The line-up contained MC vocals by Joe Attard of Punks Jump Up, Ranking Roger of the Beat and General Public and drummer Bob Wond of Under Two Flags.

A Tweet from The Beat’s account said simply: "RIP @RankingRoger who sadly past away peacefully at home with family by his side early today.
