Pinker and Prouder Than Previous is a 1988 album by British singer-songwriter Nick Lowe. It was released by Demon Records in the UK and Europe, and was his final album for Columbia Records in the US. On 20 October 2017 Yep Roc Records reissued it on CD and LP, marking its first release on compact disc in the US.

Many of the songs are certainly not bad, yet they rarely distinguish themselves from each other — only “Lover’s Jamboree,” John Hiatt’s “Love Gets Strange” and Graham Parker’s “Black Lincoln Continental” stand out, and they would have been second-string songs on The Rose of England.

1 de feb. de 2018 · Tres años después del afinado Rose of England (1985), Lowe repetía la fórmula en Pinker and Prouder than Previous, aunque incorporando músicos que marcarían su transformación, como Geraint Watkins, Jimmie Vaughan o John Hiatt.
John Hiatt… Nick volvió a grabar un álbum propio con “Pinker And Prouder Than Previous” (1988), en el que su estilo tendió hacia sonidos más rock. “Party Of One” (1990) abrió la nueva década con buen pie ya que se trataba de un magnífico disco en donde colaboraba y producía su antiguo amigo Dave Edmunds.
Pinker and Prouder Than Previous was recorded in pieces during 1986 and ’87 in London and Texas, with a host of friends, including Paul Carrack, Terry Williams, Martin Belmont and John Hiatt. (Lowe was instrumental in Hiatt’s 1987 “comeback” album, Bring the Family .) He even ended his post-Rockpile estrangement from Edmunds, who produced one song.
